On a seemingly calm day for most of us, a waterspout has just been spotted off Herne Bay, Kent.

Approximately 9.15 am on Thursday morning, 20th July, a waterspout was captured by several Twitter users amidst an area of heavy showers running along the north coast of Kent.

Two waterspouts were reported around Herne Bay and Whitstable. You can see the showers developing here on the WeatherRadar.

Coincidentally, a waterspout was also historically recorded on this day in 1902, and also in 2012 by another Twitter user. It appears 20th July is a lucky day for waterspouts!
