Brief spike in temperatures Sunday

Could we see maximum temperatures reach back into the high-twenties this weekend?

High pressure will be settling in and centring overhead through Friday and into the weekend. However temperatures will generally be around average for the time of year initially.

Temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid twenties, though with a brief spike on the cards for Sunday when peaks of around 27°C are possible in the south-east, with winds switching round to the south.

This will be limited to southern and eastern portions though, with Ireland seeing rain arrive from the west as the high scoots away.

Cooler conditions will also push in from the west to start the new working week. Keep an eye out for the latest trend landing later Friday afternoon.
