Breakfast brief
Rain passes through on blustery day

The WeatherRadar shows a large band of rain which pushes over the UK today.

Rain reaches most of us at points on a blustery Tuesday.

Kickstarting your day

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, your first forecast for the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

The day is primarily defined by a large band of rain pushing south-east across the day. After passing Ireland in the early hours, this rainfall will wane and thin as it reaches south-east England.

It is also another gusty day, with widespread winds reaching around 30 mph (48 km/h), stronger gusts along the Irish Sea coasts for Wales and England.

Otherwise, temperatures remain reasonably mild, with highs of 10°C across large parts of England, and high single-digits elsewhere.
