Calm across the UK and Ireland on another overcast day under high-pressure.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, offering your first look at the day's forecast.

Weather outlook

Another dull day across the UK and Ireland, with persistent cloud cover under continued high-pressure. Some light showers on the south and eastern coasts of England this morning, slightly heavier in northern Scotland but short-lived.

Temperatures remain frosty in parts of southern to central Scotland, around -4°C in Glasgow before slightly warning to a high of 0°C. A similar story for west to northwest Ireland, lows of -4°C also seen in Sligo but widely above freezing by midday.

Outside the far south-west of England, the final winds from Storm Darragh this past weekend have fully dissipated. Highs of around 25 mph in Plymouth should not cause any disruption.
