Breakfast brief
Milder evening on a cloudy day

Early bright spells end as cloud cover rolls over.

Clear skies for many quickly become overcast as milder temperatures return in the evening.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, your first forecast of the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

Clear skies to start the day in across much of the UK slowly fades away as cloud cover with rainfall move east. For Ireland and Wales, it's a gloomy start to the week from the morning.

Despite this, temperatures remain mild for many. Particularly into the evening with widespread highs of up to 13°C in Cork, and double-digits in parts of south-west England, Wales, and Scotland.

For those in the south-east of England it is slightly chiller with lows around 4°C this evening on a calmer day for gusts than seen over the weekend.
