The peak of the heat looks to occur today with temperatures reaching the low-thirties locally, possibly making it the hottest day of the year so far with 31.9°C to beat from the end of July. Heat health warnings are also in place.

However with the heat and humidity will also come a risk of thunderstorms developing in parts, particularly during the first half of the day and further west.
