Weather outlook

Weather warnings for rain are still active for western Scotland, where heavy rainfall persists throughout the day. Elsewhere, there is lighter rain over southern Scotland to northern England, over western areas, and also in northern Scotland. Mixed showers elsewhere.

Gusting winds also return, strongest again in western Scotland with highs approaching 50 mph in the Outer Hebrides, and around 45 mph on the mainland. Spreading widely but easing into the night.

Temperatures reach low double-digits widely.
