Weather outlook

Another widely overcast day ahead, with little sunshine across the UK and Ireland amid light rain and snow over higher ground. Only small areas will glimpse the late-winter Sun, mainly in western to central Scotland and the Shetland Islands.

Temperatures start at or near freezing across the UK, though Ireland does see a little more warmth, with highs rising to upper-single digits through the day.

Ireland and much of Scotland still see gusting winds today, which do ease overnight before returning on Thursday.
