Breakfast brief
Back to a chill with stubborn cloud

A fresh dip below freezing this morning.

Some areas fall back below freezing this morning, while for others it is stubborn cloud cover that presents a gloomy outlook.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, your first forecast for the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

Temperatures dip back below freezing in places this morning, after a brief warmer spell. Lows drop to around -1°C for places including Liverpool, Leeds, and Sheffield.

Later in the day, highs in Ireland still reach the low double-digits. Meanwhile, stubborn cloud hangs over much of England through the day, providing a gloomy outlook.

From the afternoon and into the evening, a passing low-pressure system beings stronger gusts to western Scotland, and Ireland.
