Blocking high gives way to weather front

A chillier day Saturday 9th November, especially further east.

After days of a blocking high and dreary, cloudy skies, it's all change this weekend.

The blocking high, which previously deflected incoming weather fronts, is now relinquishing to a front advancing west to east over the weekend.

Saturday will remain overcast with patchy light rain or drizzle in places, with temperatures down a notch from previous days. Some areas may struggle to see their figures even reach double digits.

Later in the day, a weather front sat out the west will bring in outbreaks of rain to Ireland, this slowly edging into western fringes of Scotland, Wales and England overnight.

Further spots of light rain around Sunday, though still a good deal of dry weather too between some brighter spells breaking through.

Temperatures reaching the mid-teens in places with 15°C on the TemperatureRadar in Plymouth and Cork.

The last of the cloud and rain then clears southwards overnight to leave the start of the new working week on a much brighter and finally sunnier note!
