Where will see snow this week?

It’s a chaotic battleground of mild south-westerlies and cold northerlies this week.

It’s colder, yes, but it’s not quite as clear cut as just cold air spilling in from the north. We have low pressure systems spiralling in from the west at times, bringing a lot of moisture and milder air from the Atlantic.

As these systems bump into colder air ahead there is the risk of sleet and snow, but where sees snow will all depend on the exact track of these systems.

To the south, precipitation will fall as rain in a sector of milder air, but to the north it will be of sleet and snow, and that’s a large uncertainty with which one will win out.

On Monday evening, 6th March, sleet and snow is possible across parts of Wales, plus central and eastern England thanks to the first low sweeping in.

So take care when travelling on Tuesday morning due to the risk of ice and snow producing slippery roads. Snow showers will also continue to litter northern Scotland.
