Heavy rain spreads with warnings issued

Weather map of the UK and Ireland showing rain over England and Scotland.
Tuesday afternoon sees two clear bands of rainfall moving north through the UK on the WeatherRadar.

Heavy rain continues to push north into Scotland on Tuesday afternoon, as fresh rainfall arrives in southern England and grows stronger into the evening.

Severe weather warnings for thunderstorms have been issued by the Met Office in parts of Wales, and parts of the English midlands and north-west.

Additionally, warnings for rainfall continue to be active across a large section of England, Scotland, and Wales.

The initial band of rain, which swept through southern England and the Midlands on Tuesday morning, continues to grow stronger as it moves into Scotland.

While the new band, currently sitting across southern England, will spread as the afternoon progresses into much of England.

Ireland also sees rain on Tuesday, though no warnings are in place.

Weather & Radar's rain warnings were already in place on Monday, with widespread warnings remaining in place on Wednesday.

Thursday sees just a sliver of eastern Scotland, north of Aberdeen covered.
