Breakfast brief
A fresher day with showers in the west

Temperatures will be down a notch through the latter part of the week, with sunshine and showers.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

A fresher day following the heat of Wednesday, with temperatures dropping down to the low-twenties. Peak temperatures are expected to reach around 23°C in Maidstone and 22°C in Ipswich.

Plenty of sunny spells though a few showers are possible in the north and west, these slightly heavier and more organised for a time across western Scotland. Becoming mainly dry and clear away from here overnight.

What's coming up in the news

After a record-breaking 12 named storms in the 2023/24 storm season, we're ready for the next! This season's list of names will be released today, check back to see who we're going to be looking out for over the next year.

Plus, Weather & Radar report Jonathan Petramala is in Japan where Typhoon Shanshan has arrived with the strength of a category 4 hurricane. We will have updates from the scene this afternoon.
