Weekend outlook
Chilly mornings, mild afternoons

Side-by-side UK and Ireland maps showing daily lows around 0–2°C on the left and daily highs rising to the mid-teens on the right.Saturday starts chilly, but turns milder through the day.

Cold and foggy mornings to mostly mild, enjoyable afternoons. That's the theme of the weekend to come.

Saturday across the UK has a chillier start than some periods this week, beginning with mist and fog in areas too. Temperatures increase during the day bringing warmth to the mid-teens though Scotland remains generally cooler and cloudier.

It's a similar story in Ireland, mist and fog starts the day but gradually clears. It remains largely dry with sunny spells across the country. Some light rain in the north-west but highs should widely reach mid-teens, perhaps even a little higher locally.

By Sunday, light rain is moving through both Northern Ireland and Scotland with gusts strengthening. From Sunday into the new week, a chance of snow returns, though confined to higher altitudes and the hills of Scotland and northern England.

Mostly cloudy in Ireland, thanks to cloud cover building through Saturday night. Clearer patches appear through the day allowing some spring sunshine to break through.

Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar for your best chance at finding a spot of sun.
