Weather trend
Mostly settled, some thundery showers

Little change is expected overall as high pressure continues to dominate our weather most of the time. Some southern areas could however see a few heavier showers.

The dry and settled conditions are here to stay in what's been a dry and often fine spring so far.

Temperature meanwhile are set to rise a little more as well this weekend as warmer air reaches the UK and Ireland from the near continent.

This warmer air will however be accompanied by some humidity, with southern Wales, southwestern and southern England likely to see several rounds of showers, some heavy and thundery, from Sunday through Tuesday.

Things will meanwhile stay dry and fine further north and east, with a mix of sun and cloud on most days.

Looking ahead into the second part of next week and the middle of the month, it looks set to become mainly dry and settled for everyone once again.

The persistent dry weather combined with strong spring sunshine means two things: pollen levels remain high, while the lack of rain could become increasingly problematic for gardeners and farmers.

Temperatures are likely to be around or just above the average for the time of year, with afternoon values typically between 15 and 21°C depending on where you are in the UK or Ireland.
