Strong winds, warmer too
Jet stream driving unsettled weather

The Jet Stream sends multiple areas of low-pressure, including this on Saturday.

A northerly jet stream is delivering a series of low-pressure areas to end the week.

Expect periods of stronger gusting winds, reaching up to 50 mph in Edinburgh on Friday, 55 mph (89 km/h) in western Ireland on Saturday.

Elsewhere, we see widespread gusts of over 30 mph and plenty of rainfall. With the jet stream in its more northern position, temperatures will rise as warmer air arrives from the south.

This increase in temperatures is most notable in England, where highs return to the mid-20s on Saturday ahead of meteorological summer beginning a day later.
