31.3°C at Heathrow
Hottest day of the year so far

A new high for the year, recorded at Heathrow on Thursday afternoon.

Thursday is now the hottest day of the year so far, after the previous high of 29.4°C from earlier in June was broken in London.

A recording of 31.4°C at Heathrow Airport, is now the new high point, besting the 30.1°C recorded earlier in the day at St. James's Park, London. The new high is unlikely to last long either.

Highs of around 33°C are expected into the weekend, where the early summer heat will peak before cooling a little next week.
