First falls of snow across Europe
Rhön Mountains, Germany
We're just over a week away from winter, but parts of Europe are already feeling it with below-average temperatures and heavy falls of snow in recent days.
It has been especially cold across parts of Europe, particularly for eastern Germany and west Poland, where the first falls of snow blanketed the region. Snow and cold air spread from the north-east to the south-west, with the first autumn snow captured from your images above across Germany, Denmark and Poland.
Croatia also experienced a premature taste of winter, with significant accumulations over the hills - the images in the tweet below were captured at 800m above sea level.
Alpine areas will also be hit this week, with a deep low forming on the leeward side of the Alps, in the Adriatic Sea. This will be bringing strong Bora winds potentially blowing over 70mph.
Bora winds are very cold winds that blow from land to sea along the eastern Adriatic. As consequence, further snow and potential blizzard conditions are expected across lowland parts of Austria and Slovenia, in addition to the Alps.
Intense low centred over Italy with colder air digging in from the north and milder air sat to the south.
